This superb sturdy, solid mahogany 19th century table has been later hand decorated by a talented artisan, using an original design. 
The table top, with its chamfered edge and deep skirt, is supported by a sturdy tapered pedestal base and three superb lions' paw feet on castors, adding to its visual appeal and stability.  The top tilts smoothly using the original brass mechanism on the underside of the table top and can easily be detached if required. Fully working castors ensure that the table is simple to manoevre.
This feature makes it a versatile piece, allowing space to be saved if not in use.

Wheel it where you like, stand back and admire!
Comfortably seats four. It is suitable for dining or as a hall table.

Three 19th century French Confit Pots

These semi glazed pots were used for preserving food in the 19th century; mainly meats in fat, such as duck confit.
T
he word ‘confit’ comes from the French verb 'confire' which means 'to preserve'. The jars were either stored in a cold larder or buried in the ground up to the glaze line.
Van Gogh was living in southe
rn France, an area associated with prolific production of confit pots, when he painted the second series of 'Sunflowers' in 1888, featuring a yellow confit pot.
They are lovely decorative pieces or can be used as vases.

Just pop a glass jar inside to retain the water.

Antique Wooden Rocking Horse (G&J Lines)

This beautifully restored vintage wooden rocking horse is steeped in history and craftsmanship. Crafted in the United Kingdom sometime before 1931, it stands as a testament to traditional toy-making artistry.

Its restoration in the 1980s by Phil Hill Rocking Horses of Birmingham has preserved its charm and elegance for generations to come.

The restorer authenticated the horse as having been built  by G&J Lines, who were known for their exquisite craftsmanship in creating fine wooden rocking horses.

This rare, beautiful and sturdy hand carved wooden horse, made during the 1800s, retains most of its original leather bridle and harness, with brass bells.  The carved mane falls to one side and the horse hair tail is possibly original. 
A flat wooden stand is included with the horse (we believe it is original) and four later added wooden wheels.
This is a truly delightful and most attractive piece.

It has been beautifully hand painted and decorated with Chateau Suduiraut, Sauternes, and a Lion and Wild Boar crest.
The table is superb - sturdy and strong with plenty of character, age and use related dints, as is to be expected.

A fabulous 19th century French confit pot, with a green glaze and plenty of character and patina.
Before the advent of refrigeration, these pots were used to store 'confit de canard' (a method of preserving duck meat in fat), and buried in the earth up to the point where the glaze begins, to keep the contents cool. 
The green glaze pots come from the South of France, and are becoming increasingly  difficult to find.
