A very attractive floral still life by the Swiss artist Ellen de Tombay (1918-1998). The painting depicts a mixed floral arrangement including anenomes, in a pretty china jug.
De Tombay studied in Belgium at the Academy of Liege with Auguste Mambour and Jacques Oches and also in the Barazutti studio in Rome. She had a sunny, impressionistic palette and loved the flower arrangement.
De Tombay's paintings have sold multiple times at auction.
